Bangkok day 05

We went for a long walk at Siam and ended up walking all the way to Nana. I was surprised to see the old railway and I remembered that I had taken a photo of it when we were there. It was one of those bad looking photos I used to take back then, when I had zero idea of how to take a good photo, how to frame it and how to edit it. I remember Glen telling me that it was bad and I should actually take it down from my instagram account, which I did. I might have it archived.

We had our first pad thai, the best pad thai so far and the worst we could have here. We were both excited to taste the juice noodles only they were soggy and dry, but still, it was a pad thai!

We have so many memories from this place. Walking the same roads again I understand that not only the roads have changed but I have changed too. I think that I have grown and accumulated so much knowledge. I have a successful job, money, skills in photography and I don't struggle like in 2014. It's good to be reminded of all these things I take for granted and understand that this version of myself is the best one ever. Actually, there will never be the same version again because every day I change the same way time changes and the world changes.

The way I have changed, Bangkok has changed as well. It's not the rough, dirty city anymore. The streets aren't covered with empty Styrofoam food containers and rats don't run from one sewer lid to the other. Cockroaches don't cross your sandals and food vendors aren't as many as before. The city is manicured better than my toes and it's a jewel. The food remains at the top of our list but other things are there as well, like the parks and the clean streets.

I love being here more than I did nine years ago.
