International Women's Day

When I think about International Women’s Day and I see the flowers, the little gifts, and the night-long parties at male strip clubs, I can’t think of how degenerate we are. Instead of thinking about all these great women who dedicated their lives to make this world greater, or the women who gave their lives for us to enjoy the privileges we have now, we are being consumed into the commercialism we’ve been brainwashed to.

Think about the Industrial Revolution and women working hard under the worst conditions in shady factories, while maintaining their family role. Think about when women started voting around the world and how long it took for this to happen. Think about women’s contribution to science and arts. Think about women’s rights in Islam and how patient they’ve been regarding their rights. Finally, reflect on your family’s bloodline and how your mother, grandmother and great grandmother were raised.

Every year, on this day, I think about two women who have inspired me: Marie Curie and Georgia O’Keeffe. I’m grateful for their contribution to science and art. Their free spirit will live inside me forever.

Happy Women’s Day 🌸
